Surfing
The St. Ives area is internationally famous for its surfing and Porthmeor Beach is a major venue for both local and international surfers looking for the perfect wave. Porthmeor Beach is St. Ives' premier surfing beach which faces North into the Atlantic Ocean which makes for world class waves and surfing. During the summer the beach hosts surfing contests, art classes, sand sculpture and surf life-saving.
